Sun helps guides souls to their new physical forms.  here is a rough sketch of a two shots of a scene of the sun sending a soul to a new born kit.

My slides on my beat board and earlier concepts

This is my slide for my beat board; with additional slides of earlier concepts for characters, colour pallets, scenes and mise en scene. I plan to further interactive different ways of showing my story, for example with the earlier concept of the moon been taken over with the shadow. I plan to get my peer's feedback. I need to further develop my colours and finalise, with some concept art that focus on emotions, relationships and atmosphere, this will help with my colour scripts and storyboarding.

Updated Beat Board

Image
Iv updated my beat board, after my group tutorial with Lynsey. Which was suggested I change the village characters into something that connections more with the moon theme. Because of this, I had to adapt my story to fit this in. However, I feel this gives a more circular narrative and fits much better than my previous beat board. My story begins with the moon, and Luna coming down to earth and ends with Luna returning, and the sun rising- a brand new day. I was told not to show the town, but I feel this expands the world of my film. It will not be the main part but a part of the introduction. To connote the dramatic effect of the negativity of one person has on a whole town; and also gives a reason as to why Luna comes down to earth. I have decided to also add narration/voice-over, used often in fairy tales, and means I will do much less lip-sync and characters voices. (Much more economical and time-efficient than working out lip-sync movements and syncing it up in editing.)...

Concept Idea; visual messages of the moon.

I thought It would be a good idea to show the only source of light at night (connotation of the good in the bad.) is overtake by the darkness; to show the powerful effect of the shadows (aka negativity). This is just a concept thought on the cinematography and colours. As seen in some horror films, the moon has a creepy shadowy face, I want to use this symbolism to connote the shadows overpowering the light. The first image represents Luna's connection to her 'positive cosmic energy', the second show she's being attacked, with a shadow beginning to form over the moon and nested bird fleeing from the forest. (Birds tend to fly away when they predict danger).   The third image shows a dark entity overtaking the moon and dimming its brightness; a connection to Luna being corrupted by the dark.
