adapting my ideas
Yesterday, after showing my work to anther lecture I was asked to scrap my character and story; and produce something much more simpler. However, I am going to fight for my idea and characters and further develop it to make it stronger. My story will stay the same, but I wills simply the way its told by visual imagery. This what I need to work on; iterating my beat board till it works and looks like a 30-90 second film, rather than a "15 minute film" as was described by my lecture.
The moon and the sun protect the world from darkness.
If there is no light, the dark can consume you and your soul.
The Sun safely delivers souls to earth, and the moon safely delivers souls to back to the night sky.
One day, on the moons 'shift'; he spots something wrong; the darkness has become much stronger. So he sends apart of himself- his Granddaughter, to go to earth and check more closely whats happening.
There she discovers the darkness is corrupting animals, people and the planet.
She has to act fast; in her act of helping, she is affected to- but thankfully, with the support of the sun; they can trial evil and give light to earth again.
30-90 second film; 12 beats.
Beat one: Earth is protected from the dark by the moon and sun and stars.
Beat 2: The sun gives life
Beat 3: The moon takes life,
Beat 4: Spirits can rekindle this way.
Beat 5:The moon sheds light during the night
Beat 6: The moon sees damage and dark spirits that cant be taken by the light
Beat 7: Luna comes down
Beat 8: Luna tries to help a corrupted spirit
Beat 9: she gets infected too
beat 9: The sun helps empowers her to fight it off.
each beat has roughly 7.5 seconds if i do 90 seconds.
Or each beat has 2.5 seconds if I do 30 seconds.
Change my story a little:
A person feels lost in the dark; but the moon saves them.
My changed moral:
There is always light in the darkness....
